The Petstock Group are proud to partner with Royal Canin and TerraCycle to launch a free recycling program for selected pet food packaging!
This sustainability initiative supports the Petstock Group's commitment to People, Pets and the Planet and gives us the opportunity to make a meaningful positive difference to the planet.
Proudly in Partnership
How does it work?
Selected Petstock stores have a collection box that customers can then place their clean, accepted, used pet packaging in. We then work behind the scenes with TerraCycle to recycle these products, using a circular economy method, turning these products into reusable items such as park benches, dog agility equipment and frisbees.
We accept:
- Clean dry pet food bags - all brands.
- Clean wet pet food pouches - all brands.
What can be recycled?
Any brand of pet dry food bags and pet wet food pouches can be recycled through the program. All wet food pouches must be clean as TerraCycle cannot process them if they still contain food.
We do not accept:
- Packaging still containing food
- Wet pet food tins
- Pet toys and accessories
- Wet pet food tins
- Packaging from pet food rolls
- Pet cardboard boxes
- Woven horse/stock feed packaging
- Other human soft plastics products
Who is TerraCycle?
TerraCycle is a world leader with over 20 years of experience in the collection, recycling, and repurposing of complex waste streams. TerraCycle partners with leading consumer product companies to recycle products and packaging that would otherwise end up being landfilled or incinerated.
What does TerraCycle do with the pet food packaging?
Once collected, the packaging is sorted, shredded, cleaned, and melted into pellets which can be re-moulded to create new recycled products such as plastic lumber for outdoor furniture, decking and more!
